Hesters, a tradition on Kentucky Lake for many decades, has become the “resort of choice” for folks looking for a clean, quiet and enjoyable vacation location at a reasonable cost. We must be doing something right since over 60% of our 2011 guests made reservations for 2012 before leaving – many made reservations for 2013! Since we appreciate that the economy has made it difficult for folks to plan vacations, our rental rates have not been increased for 2011.

Hesters offers a small, friendly vacation setting on the edge of beautiful Kentucky Lake. The rental units are located on a protected point surrounded by water just off the main lake. Our marina store, boat slips and rental boats provide everything needed for a lake vacation.

Hesters has eleven rental units. Nine units are within 100 yards of the water and provide for outdoor barbecuing, picnicking and campfires. Two units are on a hill overlooking Hesters with a view of the lake. All units are equipped with air conditioning, heat and cable television. Each unit has a full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and toaster. Cooking pans, utensils, dishes, bed linens and towels are furnished.

On Hesters’ grounds you will find a sand volley ball court, a basketball court, playground area for children, game room with a ping pong table and pool table, and a small sandy beach with a swimming dock. Within 30 minutes from Hesters, you will find golf courses, nature trails, horseback riding, and restaurants. The Land Between the Lakes with its beach area and quarry are a quick boat ride from Hesters. Some guests are brave enough to scale the quarry’s 60 foot cliffs and jump into the calm, deep water.

Hesters is flexible in meeting the vacation plans of resort guests by offering weekly and daily rental rates with a minimum of a two night stay. Check-in is 2:00 PM and check-out is 9:00 AM but we will accommodate your travel plans whenever possible. We welcome pets with the payment of a $50 fee for the stay

Our full service marina offers gas, bait, tackle, fishing licenses, ice, snack items, T shirts, and an area for cleaning fish. We have a ramp for launching your boat and covered boat slips with electricity. We are proud that Hesters has been certified a “Clean Marina” by the Tennessee Valley Authority since 2007.

Many guests bring their boats to Hesters. Our boat slips rent for $10 a day and we guarantee that at least one covered boat slip is available for rent for each unit that is rented. Additional boats are accommodated based upon availability of slips.

Hesters also has boats for rent at daily, three day and weekly rates.

Hesters sponsors an annual fishing contest for guests. The contest pays $400 to the guest that catches the largest crappie and $400 to the guest that catches the largest bass. Winning the fishing contest could help pay for your Kentucky Lake vacation!

Information about Hesters’ Rental Units:

Four 3-bedroom traditional fishing cabins (Units 1, 2, 3, 4), with knotty pine walls and tile floors, are furnished with four double beds. These units have one bathroom.

One 3-bedroom duplex apartment (Unit 9) has two floors. Downstairs has a kitchen, living/dining area, bathroom with shower, bedroom with two double beds. Upstairs has small conversation area, bathroom with shower and two bedrooms, each with two double beds.

Two 2-bedroom traditional fishing cabins (Units 5 & 6), with knotty pine walls and tile floors, are furnished with two double beds and one twin bed. These units have one bathroom.

One 2-bedroom duplex apartment (Unit 7) is furnished with two double beds and three twin beds. If you are planning a family reunion or bringing a large group to Hesters, you will want to consider including Unit 7 in your reservation since this unit offers a 16 x 40 foot deck with three picnic tables for group gatherings and a Florida Room for the storage of your boating and fishing gear. This unit has one bathroom.

One 2-bedroom mobile home (Unit 8) is furnished with two double beds. This unit has one bathroom.

Two 2-bedroom duplex apartments (Units 10 & 11) in the building overlooking Hesters are furnished with three double beds and have large decks, fireplaces and dishwashers. These units have one bathroom.

Hesters offers a 5% discount for any unit that has a guest at least 60 years old and a 10% discount for any unit with an active military guest.

A $100 deposit is required to confirm reservations.  If a reservation is cancelled 30 days before the scheduled arrival date, the deposit will be refunded. If you need to leave Hesters early , you will be expected to be responsible for the remainder of the reservation.
